Pumpkin Patch 2010

It is time to begin preparations for Pumpkin Patch 2010.  Last year was a huge success as we raised funds for camp/retreat scholarships.  We were also successful in reaching out to our community.  We heard many people say “We didn’t know this church was here!”

There are many ways that you can help us with Pumpking Patch 2010.  We will have an organizational meeting Wednesday, July 28 at 7:30 in the Adult Education building.  If you are interested in being a part of this fun project join us.

Here are some of the committees we need..

Operations Comm. –

Barrie Braden will head this committee. We need several men who will be in charge of tents, electricity, slide, generators. etc.

Decorating/Set-up – Organizing the unloading and set-up of the pumpkins and making the patch look fun and inviting.

Baked Goods – One of the more successful activities last year was the Bake Sale.  We need a committee to organize and implement the sale of baked goods.

Field Trips – Working with schools and day care setting up field trips to the patch and planning fun activities for the field trip.

Crafts – Solicit handmade crafts to be donated to our Pumpkin Patch Craft Sale.  We would love to have a Christmas Craft section this year.  This committee would also organize set-up, sales, etc.

Weekend Food – This committee would organize BBQ, turkey legs, sausage on a stick, etc for food sales on Sat. and Sun.

Snack Foods – This committee would be in charge of Saturday snack foods i.e. Funnel Cakes, Popcorn, Drinks, etc.

Scarecrows – This was an incredibly successful event last year as many of you competed for the best scarecrow award.  We would love to make this a more community-wide event by encouraging businesses to compete also.

Publicity – This committee would find ways to communicate to our community about the Patch with newspaper ads, signs, street banners, etc.  This work of this committee is crucial to the success of the patch.

Prayer – This committee would cover this event and the planning with prayer and would also come to the patch at various times to pray over the efforts and to pray for people to see Jesus in all that we do.
