"How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. And he will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season, And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers." (Psalm 1:1-3)

Established in 1996, the Men's Ministry of First Baptist is a ministry brought about by the moving of the Holy Spirit on the hearts of the men of our fellowship. We are a body of men who are serious about being disciples of our Lord and who feel the need to be involved in the building up of His Church.
1. Bible Studies - to equip men with the Word of God with Bible studies, seminars and workshops. Current Bible studies are Tuesday nights at 7:00pm (Cliff Warren's) and on Thursday nights at 7:00pm at the church in the Adult Center (W126).
2. Work Projects - to donate time and skills (painting, electrical, carpentry, and countless others) for those in times of crisis, for members and their families and for church projects.
3. Activities - to provide regularly planned events such as men's fellowships, father-son/daughter outings, golf, fishing, hunting, shooting, cooking, etc..
4. Support - to provide a network of encouragement and spiritual assistance to men who face difficult life issues: whether in the realm of family, financial, career, or personal.
5. Outreach - to intentionally proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through a variety of venues as the Lord opens them to us.
6. Treasury - to administer and promote fund raising projects for the further support of the ministry beyond the church budget.

It is our desire to build holy character within our men and to be disciples worthy of Christ's calling. We seek to equip and encourage men to be available for His service in every area of life: in our homes, in our church, in our community, and in our work.
How Do We Measure Our Success?
. . . Against Some Men In The Bible Who Were Described In A Few Words:
Abraham "believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness."
Barnabas was a "Son of Encouragement."
David was "a man after God's own heart."
Job was "blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil."
Hezekiah "did what was right in the eyes of the LORD."
Timothy was "faithful in the Lord."
Stephen was "a man full of God's grace and power."
Enoch "Walked with God."
Jesus was "full of joy through the Holy Spirit."

Our Deacon Body is receiving nominations from our church family during the month of May for prospective Deacon Yokefellow candidates. The term “yokefellow” is based on the term that the Apostle Paul used in Philippians 4:3 to describe one who was his associate in the Lord’s work in Philippi. The term is translated “comrade”, “teammate”, and “partner” in other translations.
Those who are elected by the church as Deacon Yokefellows will serve with our Deacon Body under the apprenticeship of one of our presently ordained deacons for a period of one year. Following this time of training, if the Lord confirms his calling to the ministry of deacon, the yokefellow will be ordained by the church to serve on the active Deacon Body.
Our Deacon Body will interview those who are nominated to determine their qualifications and willingness to serve. A list of Deacon Yokefellow candidates to be elected will be presented to the church for a vote on Sunday, July 25th. For more information and to nominate an individual, click here.
