How to Join FBCM

“The First Baptist Church of Magnolia exists to glorify God by worshiping Him in spirit and in truth, to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to the unsaved and to lead believers to grow in the grace of God and knowledge of His Word.”  The different ways that a person may join First Baptist Church Magnolia are:

  • Trusting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior

  • Making a commitment to be baptized
Indicating that you have previously trusted Christ as your Savior and have never been scripturally baptized as a public statement of your salvation.

  • Statement of Faith and Previous Scriptural Baptism
Stating that you have previously trusted Christ as your Savior and was baptized by immersion after your salvation. One would join in this manner when coming from a church from another denomination with the same core beliefs.

  • Transfer of your Membership from another Baptist church

In each service, we provide an opportunity to come forward and meet with our pastor and pastoral staff to discuss membership or other decisions you have made.  At that time, you would be connected to one of our altar counselors to help you understand church membership.

If you are uncomfortable with coming forward during the service, you may contact the church office at anytime and we will set up a time to meet with you and/or your family.  Or, you may attend one of our "Meet the Pastors" luncheons at which time we explain membership and give an opportunity to join.  These luncheons are scheduled often, look for it in our announcements or contact the church office for dates at (281) 356-8543.

Our Deacon Body is receiving nominations from our church family during the month of May for prospective Deacon Yokefellow candidates.  The term “yokefellow” is based on the term that the Apostle Paul used in Philippians 4:3 to describe one who was his associate in the Lord’s work in Philippi. The term is translated “comrade”, “teammate”, and “partner” in other translations.

Those who are elected by the church as Deacon Yokefellows will serve with our Deacon Body under the apprenticeship of one of our presently ordained deacons for a period of one year. Following this time of training, if the Lord confirms his calling to the ministry of deacon, the yokefellow will be ordained by the church to serve on the active Deacon Body.

Our Deacon Body will interview those who are nominated to determine their qualifications and willingness to serve. A list of Deacon Yokefellow candidates to be elected will be presented to the church for a vote on Sunday, July 25th.  For more information and to nominate an individual, click here.
